The Turkish men's national basketball team faced Latvia in its first match of the 2025 European Championship. The match was played at Arena Riga in Riga, the capital of Latvia.
Despite the home team recovering from the break, the Turkish national team continued to score from the free throw line and outside shots, extending their lead to 14 in the 8th minute: 10-24. Latvia went on an 11-0 run against Turkey, who made a series of errors in the remaining period, cutting the deficit to 3. The Crescent-Star team finished the first period ahead 24-21.
