This Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Paloquemao judicial complex, the ruling against Álvaro Uribe was read, prosecuted for the alleged crimes of witness bribery and procedural fraud.

The person in charge of this procedure was Sandra Liliana Heredia, Judge of the 44th Criminal Circuit of Bogotá. In addition, the parties involved in the case, such as Senator Iván Cepeda and the former president's defense team, were required to participate in the meeting.

During the act, the judge assured that “the materiality of the punishable conduct of bribery in criminal proceedings with respect to the witness Juan Guillermo Monsalve was sufficiently proven”.

In another statement, Heredia noted that becoming a witness in the case had become a paid occupation, not necessarily through institutional channels, but rather"underground."

In response to these comments, representative Lina María Garrido was quick to take to social media to strongly criticize the reading of the ruling against former president Álvaro Uribe.

"Do me a favor! How cheeky!" reads the opening line of the post shared on X's platform, referring to the judge's statement about an ambush against Monsalve.

"All that's left is for him to come down and put a bottle of whiskey on Cepeda's table," he continued a few lines later, expressing his dissatisfaction with the way the senator's position on the case was being analyzed.

The representative published a new message

A few hours later, Garrido attacked Heredia's remarks again, claiming that what was happening Monday at the Paloquemao courthouse looked like a"campaign launch by Iván Cepeda."

“This was a given. Anyone who expected a different approach from the judge didn't watch the hearings,” the representative added in a new post on her official X account.

“You don't harm your opponents by abusing power. It's a basic rule of the game. In the end, it only makes them stronger. When power is used to victimize, you sign your own defeat,” Garrido pointed out.
