Putin will start the third world war?
President Vladimir Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin could start a new mobilization in Russia, which could pose a serious threat to Europe and cause a world war.
The president's warning comes as Russia steps up provocations against NATO countries, including a wave of mysterious drone sightings across Europe that have raised fears of hybrid warfare.
"Wherever quick success is achieved, that's where (Putin) will go if there is mobilization," Zelensky said.
"There is a significant risk that Putin will actually go to world war."

Ryabkov: For now, there is no reason to talk about starting the Zaporozhye nuclear plant
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said today that, until the transmission lines to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant are restored, there is no reason to talk about restarting it.
"The power plant is in a state of cold shutdown, that is common knowledge. The issue of restarting it is a matter for experts. Currently, as far as I understand, the backup power lines connected to the power plant to ensure cooling of the reactor have not been restored either," Ryabkov told reporters in Moscow, Interfax reports.
He said that he believes that"until this issue is resolved, there is no reason to discuss the prospects for restarting" the power plant.

30,000 residents were left without electricity
Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Ukraine's Odesa region overnight on October 9, setting fires and knocking out power to tens of thousands of people, as Moscow renewed its campaign to cripple Ukraine's energy system ahead of winter.
Oleg Kiper, head of the military administration of the Odesa region, said that most of the drones were shot down, but that a few hit civilian, port and energy facilities.
Fires broke out in two private houses, an administrative building and a gas station. Containers filled with vegetable oil and wood pellets caught fire in the port, Kiper said.
Five people were injured, and around 30,000 residents were left without electricity. The town of Chornomorsk was among the hardest hit, with local officials reporting damage to civilian infrastructure and homes. Almost the entire city was left without electricity.

Zelensky sends team to the US
Ukraine will send a delegation to the United States next week for high-level talks to resolve issues including air defense, energy cooperation, sanctions and negotiations on frozen Russian assets, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Wednesday.
According to Zelenskiy, the delegation will be led by Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, and it will also include the head of the presidential cabinet Andriy Yermak and the presidential advisor and commissioner for sanctions policy Vladislav Vlasyuk.
"The topics are air defense, energy and sanctions. The issue of frozen Russian assets in the US will also be discussed," Zelensky said.
Zelensky stressed that Russia is not showing a 'desire for peace', but is instead intensifying its attacks on Ukraine in order to project the illusion of success.
"I believe that our meeting, combined with the real facts, gives President Trump a broader understanding that the Russians are selling him something they cannot deliver - they are simply lying," Zelensky said.
"I don't see any real show of force from them. What we see are terrorist attacks, civilian killings and attacks on our energy and rail infrastructure."

"We will not give a single crown from the budget to Ukraine for weapons"
Former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, whose party won parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic last week, said today that he spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and expressed his support and hope for the imminent end of the war in Ukraine.
"I'm glad that he contacted me and described the current situation," said Babis on the X platform.
Babis pointed out that he will visit Ukraine next year, if everything goes well.
Before the election, he promised to end the Czech scheme to procure ammunition for Ukraine.
Babiš said at a press conference on Wednesday that the ANO movement, whose president he is, if he is part of the Czech government, will not give money to Ukraine for weapons from the state budget.
He said that the Czech Republic is helping Ukraine through the EU, while Czech weapons factories can freely export weapons without problems, Czech newspaper (ČTK) reported.
"We will not give a single crown from the budget to Ukraine for weapons. We have no money for the Czech Republic itself. I believe that we helped Ukraine directly, and now the help will be provided through the EU," Babis pointed out.
