One of the victims was pregnant, there are many injured, the perpetrators are Palestinians
Six people were killed in total after gunmen opened fire with machine guns on a bus on Yigal Yadin Street in Jerusalem at around 10:13 a.m. on Monday. The attackers were shot dead at the scene.
One of the victims was pregnant. Harrowing footage of the attack shows dozens of people fleeing a bus stop at a busy intersection during the morning rush hour. People fall to the ground in panic.
The perpetrators are Palestinians. Hamas has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack, but it welcomed the massacre and praised the two perpetrators, calling them"resistance fighters". According to them, it is a"natural response to the crimes of the occupiers against our people".

Four more men - three in their 30s and one in his 50s - and a woman were also killed. Eleven others were injured, six of them in serious condition.
According to Israeli authorities, the two gunmen were traveling in a car that had stopped at a bus stop and opened fire. A soldier and a civilian shot and killed the attackers.

Several weapons, ammunition and a knife used by the attackers were found at the scene of the incident.
"I got off the bus about a minute before the attack. I was sitting at the bus stop when I heard a long series of shots. Suddenly everyone started running. There was chaos," a witness to the shooting told the Daily Mail.
Medics who arrived on the scene say that chaos reigned in the area.
"When we arrived, we saw people lying on the road, unconscious, near the bus stop."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the scene of the incident.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army is said to have closed all checkpoints between East Jerusalem and the West Bank following the attacks. Roads leading to the scene of the incident are also blocked.
Although there have been several attacks in Israel in recent months, the last deadly mass shooting was in October 2024, when two Palestinians from the West Bank opened fire on a major boulevard in the Tel Aviv area, killing seven people and wounding many others.
