The World's Current Take

Maroc Telecom has reached a decisive milestone in the development of digital technology in Morocco with the effective launch of 5G. The operator is thus providing its customers with a technology that promises ultra-fast speeds, reduced latency and unprecedented quality of service.

Subscribers with a compatible smartphone will be automatically connected to the 5G network in areas already covered, without any action or additional fees. According to Maroc Telecom, this smooth and seamless transition will allow users to immediately enjoy a more stable and faster network experience.

To support this evolution, the operator is offering new 5G plans starting from 119 DH per month, including a generous data allowance. More comprehensive offers integrate entertainment services such as TOD (the official platform of beIN Sports), StarzPlay, and Glovo Prime, aiming to enrich the digital experience for subscribers.

Packages starting from 199 DH also include the Roaming service, guaranteeing uninterrupted international connectivity.

Maroc Telecom is also launching El Manzil 5G, a home Wi-Fi box that harnesses the power of 5G to deliver high-performance Wi-Fi at home. This device ensures a fast and stable connection, capable of supporting simultaneous use by multiple household members, thus meeting the growing demand for home data.

This progress is based on a sustained investment strategy. Maroc Telecom has modernized its entire mobile and fixed network, strengthened its transmission platforms, and deployed a state-of-the-art infrastructure across the country. These efforts have resulted in a resilient, secure, and scalable network capable of supporting national ambitions in connectivity and digital transformation.

Beyond its applications for the general public, 5G is poised to play a structuring role in the modernization of the Moroccan economy. Its potential applications cover areas such as telemedicine, distance learning, Industry 4.0, smart logistics, and connected agriculture.

This new generation infrastructure should therefore contribute to strengthening the productivity and competitiveness of the economic fabric, in line with the national digital transformation strategy supported by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.
