US Involvement

The US's increasing military preparations in the region are drawing attention as the Israel-Iran war intensifies. According to the American news channel Fox News, six B-2 Spirit stealth bombers belonging to the US Air Force took off from Whiteman Air Base in Missouri and headed to the strategic Guam base in the Western Pacific.

ACCOMPANYING FUEL PLANE

According to Israeli state TV channel KAN, the planes were accompanied by four KC-46 Pegasus refueling aircraft to enable them to continue their long-range missions. These special aircraft allow the B-2s to fly for longer periods by refueling in the air. The first two refueling aircraft are refueling over the Pacific, while the remaining two are en route to provide support via Hawaii. According to experts, the shipment could be a sign of preparations for a possible operation.

RADAR CANNOT DETECT

B-2 Spirits are among the most advanced military equipment in the United States. The system, which is the world's most expensive fighter jet with a cost of approximately 2.1 billion dollars (21 billion lira), is almost undetectable by radar. It can carry nearly 18 tons of ammunition at a time and has the capacity for both conventional and nuclear bombs.

The aircraft's munitions include precision bombs that are 20.5 feet long and guided by GPS. These weapons can penetrate more than 200 feet of concrete into underground facilities, effectively destroying some of the world's most fortified underground structures.

SHELTER CAN BE EQUIPPED WITH PERFORATING BOMBS

In addition, thanks to GPS-guided conventional weapons called Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM), the B-2 can hit multiple fixed targets simultaneously with high precision. According to experts, it can be equipped with 13.6-ton bunker-piercing bombs that can specifically target underground bunkers such as Fordo, one of Iran's nuclear facilities.

Experts emphasize that only the United States can hit such targets, and state that the bombs carried by B-2s"pierce through the ground, rock and concrete, either destroying the target or completely collapsing the structure." Deeply protected Iranian facilities such as Fordo are shown among the structures that can be targeted with such munitions.

WHAT HAPPENED?

US President Donald Trump has reportedly returned to the White House to make his decision on Washington's role in the Israel-Iran war. He is expected to receive extensive briefings from the National Security Council over the weekend. Trump had previously said he would"never accept" Iran obtaining nuclear weapons and asked for a two-week period.

sanctions announced that they were implemented.
