"We do not believe in Vladimir Putin's goodwill," Navrockis told reporters at a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubbs in Helsinki.
"While we hope for long-term peace, permanent peace, which our regions need, we believe that Vladimir Putin is ready to invade other countries as well," added Poland's new president."That is why we are developing our armed forces, we are developing our cooperation and our allied relations."
Navrockis pointed out that the security architecture across the region has changed and that US President Donald Trump is "the only leader in the free world" who can force Putin to sit at the negotiating table.
Meanwhile, Stubbs, who has spoken regularly with Trump in recent months, said that"we are trying to impress upon Putin that he cannot be trusted to use his usual delaying tactics."
