"We will apply secondary tariffs. If we don't have a deal in 50 days, it's very simple. And it will be 100 percent, and that's it," Trump told reporters at the White House while meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Trump did not provide specific details on how these tariffs would be implemented.

"I use trade for a lot of things," he added."But it's great for resolving wars."

Rite, in turn, announced that NATO and USA Ukraine will receive a"huge amount" of weapons as part of the agreement.

"This will mean that Ukraine will acquire a truly enormous amount of military equipment - both air defense, missiles and ammunition," he said.

Trump said the deliveries would include billions of dollars worth of ammunition and weapons, including Patriot missile systems.

"We are going to produce high-end weapons and send them to NATO," the US president said.

Trump added that other alliance countries would pay for these weapons and then"send them where they're needed." In response, Rite thanked Trump for ensuring that Ukraine would now receive the weapons it needed.

Asked whether Kiev would receive Patriot systems, Trump replied that 17 such systems were ready for shipment.

The US president indicated that NATO countries will send their Patriot systems to Ukraine and the US will provide these countries with replacements.

Rite said Germany, Finland, Canada, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Denmark would be among the U.S. arms buyers delivering them to Ukraine. He said"speed is key here" and suggested the shipments should prompt Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to consider peace talks.
