Fidesz's communications director, Tamás Menczer, was a guest on Fidesz's morning show, and the first question immediately related to the most important news of the day, the incursion of Russian drones into Polish territory. The questioner, Balázs Németh, states that"according to press reports" the Russians may have been the ones violating the airspace - but these are not press reports, but this is the Polish government's position, which is accepted by Hungary's federal system, NATO and the EU.
In Menczer's answer, no one says that the Russians had anything to do with this, but it contains much more important information: who is right again."I think three things are very important at this time. The first is that you have to remain extremely calm. The second is that you have to look, you have to examine exactly what happened. And the third lesson is that this case also shows that we, Hungarians, Viktor Orbán and the government, were right, and we are right now. This war must be ended, this war must be closed!"
In the second half of the show, Balázs Bende, the so-called foreign policy expert, explained that he did not want to assert anything, but it was very suspicious that this incident supported what the leaders of the EU and NATO were saying, that Russia was threatening the Western alliance system.
Péter Szijjártó also did not condemn the airspace violation, nor did he express his support for Poland. Viktor Orbán has not yet made any statements.
