Andrzej Duda's Final Address

During the ceremony of taking over command of the Polish Armed Forces, President Karol Nawrocki addressed Polish soldiers."Your president will never, I promise you, never say to you: 'forward.' I will always say to you: 'follow me.' I was, I am, and I will be with you. Long live the Polish army, long live Poland," he said from the podium.

During his speech, Karol Nawrocki also promised to increase the number of Polish soldiers to 300,000 in the coming years."I know how difficult this process is, but I believe that Poland will become a military superpower," he said.

The newly sworn-in president also emphasized that he would build Poland's responsibility and the readiness of Polish officers in the North Atlantic Alliance.

"I will support all efforts to modernize the Polish state and the Polish military. But let us not have any doubts, allies only defend those who can defend themselves. Therefore, as president of Poland, I will do everything to build a Polish army of at least 300,000 in the coming years, the strongest army of the North Atlantic Alliance in Europe," he announced.

"I know how complicated and difficult this process is. But who, if not the president of the Polish state, is supposed to believe that within the next five, ten, twenty years Poland will become a military power in Europe? Yes, I believe in it and I will make every effort, every effort, to make it happen," Nawrocki added.

As President Nawrocki said earlier," The Presidential Palace and the National Security Bureau will not be a redoubt for contesting the government's actions in the field of our common security, but a redoubt for motivation and searching for common solutions."

Nawrocki added that"of course, it will react where necessary". However, he said, it will always stand behind modernization efforts. He said that they were initiated"with great success" by the United Right government.

The President also stressed that he would support"all recruits and those patriotic, wonderful Polish youth who want to serve in the Polish Army".

- Our immune system, our security system begins in the soul of an ordinary soldier, who must be aware of the responsibility and honor that lies before him - said the new president.

Karol Nawrocki took the presidential oath on Wednesday before the National Assembly and took office as President of the Republic of Poland.

Nawrocki concluded his oath with the words:"So help me God."

President Nawrocki, delivering his first address, indicated that on June 1, Poles gave a clear signal that"they want their election promises to be fulfilled, they want to elect their president with a sense of freedom and they will not succumb to political propaganda."

He also stated that on June 1, everyone was once again convinced that"the president must be solely and exclusively the voice of the citizens of the Republic of Poland, nothing more." "As president, I will be the voice of the Polish nation, and that is the task before me," he declared.

He added that Poles expect politicians to fulfill their campaign promises, which, he recalled, were included in"Plan 21." He declared his commitment to being consistent and determined in implementing this project. He assured that he would strive to make the Polish state a place of development, of major breakthrough projects, such as the CPK, Polish roads, and Polish ports.
