The Armed Forces of Ukraine will not depart from the current front lines. And the so-called"buffer zone" has already been created due to the intensive use of drones on the battlefield. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a briefing with journalists, the correspondent reports. UNIAN .

The Head of State commented on media reports that European leaders are allegedly considering the possibility of creating a 40-kilometer buffer zone on the front as part of a future peace agreement.

As Zelensky explained, due to the intensive use of drones, a"dead zone" has formed on the front and everything that is hit by drones is already designated.

"I have heard this repeatedly from Europeans and Americans. I tried to explain it to some colleagues. By the way, some understand it very correctly. Only those who do not understand the technological state of today's war propose a buffer zone of forty, fifty, sixty, and I even heard a proposal - 100 kilometers. Today, our heavy weapons are located at a distance of more than 10 kilometers from each other. Because everything is hit by drones. This buffer zone, I call it a"dead zone", some call it a"gray zone", - it already exists," Zelenskyy noted.

According to the head of state, there is no need to delay the process, and there is no need to be led by various points, additional conditions from Russia or some other"dreamers."

"The buffer zone exists. If Russia wants to have a greater distance from us, they can retreat deep into the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. We don't need anything for this," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As the president added, since drones shoot down everything at a certain distance, everything had been cleared out long ago.

"That is, there is no need to delay anything. It has delayed everything for a long time," Zelensky emphasized.

In this regard, he suggested paying attention to the front line, where the Russian army is located.

"Where is the armored equipment? Where are the tanks? Zero. There is nothing left. No one is stepping forward, because everyone is losing equipment. Day, night. At any moment. Therefore, this is just unnecessary talk," Zelensky explained.

The Head of State recalled that the withdrawal of troops had already been agreed upon in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions after 2014 as part of the Minsk process, but this withdrawal did not lead to anything at that time.
