Cármen Lúcia claims that Bolsonaro led a criminal organization and is supported by Moraes

Thursday, September 11

247 - Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister Cármen Lúcia said this Thursday (11) that former president Jair Bolsonaro led a criminal organization aimed at overthrowing the government elected in 2022.

In her vote in the First Chamber of the Supreme Federal Court, the judge highlighted that the Attorney General's Office (PGR) demonstrated with"conclusive evidence" that a group led by Bolsonaro and key figures from the previous government devised a plan to undermine democracy.

These firm statements contradict the arguments presented by Justice Luiz Fux the day before. He rejected the charge of organized crime against the defendants in the coup plot.

Minister Alexandre de Moraes intervened during Cármen's vote, stating:"It was an attempted coup d'état, they weren't rioters, it was a criminal organization."
