The Finnish basketball players, after several successful long-range shots from the middle of the first quarter, began to break through and quickly built a 15-point lead. In the second half, the Georgians came closer with aggressive play, and at one point the teams were separated by six points.
Less than eight minutes before the end of regulation, Miro Little made a long-range shot and regained a comfortable lead for the Finns, and Goga Bitadze later received an unsportsmanlike warning. He had previously received one technical warning, which ended the game for the Georgian national team leader. Then Mikael Jantunen made two free throws and Olivier Nkamuai made a long-range shot - 81:67.

Finland started the championship at home in Tampere with a victory over Sweden, as well as beating Great Britain and Montenegro, but only lost to Lithuania 78:81 and conceded the superiority of world champion Germany. In the round of 16, the Finns provided one of the biggest surprises of the tournament, defeating Serbia 92:86.
Georgia also pulled off a surprise in the round of 16, defeating France 80:70. In the group games in the Cypriot city of Limassol, the Georgians defeated Spain 83:69, lost to Italy and Greece, defeated the home team and lost to the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.
Finland's highest finish at the European Championship so far has been sixth place at home in 1967, while Georgia has not finished higher than 11th place in 2011.
It has already been reported that on Tuesday, Turkey defeated Poland 91:77, while Greece defeated Lithuania 87:76.
The semifinals will be held on Friday, and the medal games on Sunday.
The Latvian national team finished the European Championship in 12th place after losing in the round of 16.
The European Championship final tournament featured 24 teams divided into four groups in Riga, Tampere, Katowice and Limassol. The top four teams from each group qualified for the play-off tournament in Riga, where the medal winners will be determined on Sunday.
