During the morning, Israel put an end to Greta Thunberg's days as a prisoner of the country.

After being taken to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, she and three others signed a document agreeing to be deported. Eight of the other activists refused to sign and will therefore face trial in the country, reports Jerusalem Post.

"I do more good outside of Israel than if I am forced to stay here for a few weeks. If we choose to stay here against the will of the Israeli authorities and are arrested for a few weeks, it will harm our cause," Greta Thunberg said, according to Moatasem Zedan, a spokesperson for the Israeli human rights group Adalah, whose lawyers represent the activists.

This allowed the activist to break his long-standing boycott of air travel.

Crew was flown to the US for the sailing

A boycott that has made many headlines over the years. Among other things, when she sailed to the US and New York in 2019 and from there sailed on to a climate summit in Madrid.

A trip that was questioned after it emerged that five crew members flown to the USA to help her sail to Europe.

In the same year, the British BBC apologized after they flew a presenter back and forth to Stockholm to interview Greta Thunberg. They called their actions as"embarrassing".

Pictures released by Israel's Foreign Ministry show the world-famous Swedish activist being taken aboard a flight to Paris, where she was placed at the far end of a row of seats at the back, facing the toilet section of the plane.

According to Israel's Foreign Ministry, she will be flown to Sweden via Paris. With a change in Paris for the onward journey to Stockholm, Greta Thunberg's carbon footprint will be 330 kilograms, according to the UN agency ICAO's calculator.

During the night of Monday, Israeli military boarded the ship “The Madleen” with Greta Thunberg on board, among others. The ship, which was on its way to Gaza with supplies, is part of the Palestinian activist coalition “Freedom Flotilla” which has a number of ships at its disposal.

The crew was detained and The Madleen was taken to the port city of Ashdod.

Refused to watch film on Hamas massacre

Israel also wanted Greta Thunberg and the other activists to watch a 43-minute film of Hamas' terrorist massacre in the country on October 7, 2023. The film consisted of clips from the terrorists' own body cameras and shows them murdering and maiming people.

But the group refused to watch the film, according to Defense Minister Israel Katz.

"They proved once again that they prefer murderers to victims. They continue to ignore the atrocities committed by Hamas against Jewish and Israeli women, the elderly and children," Katz said, according to the Jerusalem Post.
