The majority of Ukrainians (62%) continue to say that they are ready to endure war as much as needed. This is evidenced by the results poll, which was held by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) from September 2 to 14, 2025.
It is noted that at the beginning of June 2025, the indicators were identical.
"Another 4% responded that they are ready to endure for about a year. 21% of respondents say that a shorter period (six months or several months) is expected (practically unchanged over the past few months)," the survey says.
In addition, the study found that among those expecting completion this year, 41% are willing to endure as long as it takes. The figure among those expecting completion in 2026 is 63%, among those expecting completion in 2027 and later is 74%. And among those who answered"don't know", 61% are willing to endure as long as it takes.
How the survey was conducted
A total of 1,023 respondents were surveyed. The survey was conducted with adult (aged 18 and older) citizens of Ukraine who, at the time of the survey, lived in the territory of Ukraine controlled by the Government of Ukraine. The sample did not include residents of territories temporarily not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities (at the same time, some of the respondents are IDPs who moved from occupied territories), and the survey was not conducted with citizens who left abroad after February 24, 2022. Formally, under normal circumstances, the statistical error of a sample of 1,023 respondents (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.3) does not exceed 4.1%.
As UNIAN reported, a survey at the end of August showed that 55% of Ukrainians agree with the statement that they would like the war to end as soon as possible at any cost. Opponents of this opinion - 30%. The number of people ready for peace at any cost has increased since 2023. Then 30% were ready for such a scenario, while opponents - 53%.
At the same time, the absolute majority of Ukrainians, namely 73%, said that they believe in Ukraine's victory in the war against Russia. While 17% do not believe. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 91.5% of people believed in victory. The least believe in victory are residents of the eastern regions - 55% of them there. While in the south of Ukraine, 69% of such people.
