Congressional/Official release of Epstein materials

New photographic material of Jeffrey Epstein next to celebrities, the following were made public: Democrats in the House of Representatives Oversight Committee of USA.

Among other things, the 19 photos that came to light from the Epstein archives depict Donald Trump and the Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor It is noted that there is no suggestion that these photos indicate any illegality, while many of those appearing in them have denied any involvement in the Epstein case.

THE Donald Trump He was a friend of Epstein for years, but has said their relationship ended around 2004, several years before Epstein was first arrested. The US president has repeatedly denied any involvement in the case.

It is noted that the images released by Democrats on the Oversight Committee are not part of the Epstein files that the US Department of Justice has requested be made public by December 19.

In a statement, Congressman Robert Garcia said the committee is reviewing over 95,000 photos and stressed that the majority will be released in the coming days and weeks.

Trump appears in three photos

Donald Trump appears in three of the 19 photos, while another depicts his likeness on red packages, next to a sign reading Trump Condoms.

The photos include a black-and-white image of Trump flanked by several women whose faces are covered. In another, he is standing next to Epstein talking to a woman at an event, and in another, he is standing next to a woman whose face is also covered.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with Bill Gates

One of the images released shows the former Prince Andrew with Bill Gates. The image appears to be a cropped version of a photo taken by a professional photographer and available on Getty Images. The full photo also shows King Charles (then Prince of Wales), on the right side of the image.

According to the caption, the photo was taken during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit on Malaria in London on April 18, 2018.

According to the BBC, the celebrities depicted in the photos released are the following:

  • US President Donald Trump
  • Former US President Bill Clinton
  • Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon
  • Actor and director Woody Allen
  • American economist Larry Summers
  • Lawyer Alan Dersovich
  • British businessman Richard Branson
  • Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor
  • Businessman Bill Gates

Republicans: False narrative from Democrats

A spokesman for the Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee criticized Democrats for releasing the photos, accusing them of selecting photos to create a false narrative about President Trump.

The relevant statement states: We received over 95,000 photos and the Democrats released only a few of them. Nothing in the documents we have received indicates any illegality. It is shameful that Congressman Garcia and the Democrats continue to put politics above Justice.

Awaiting developments

By releasing new information, Democrats in Congress have reignited the already high interest in the Jeffrey Epstein case and the public debate about Donald Trump's possible involvement.

The images of Trump - smiling, surrounded by a group of young women, standing over Epstein's shoulder in conversation and sitting next to a blonde woman whose identity has not been revealed - are yet another reminder that the president and Epstein were once members of the same social circle, the BBC comments.

Other photos - including of Trump adviser Steve Bannon, former President Bill Clinton and director Woody Allen - recall Epstein's ties to the financial and political elite.

Possible domino

When Democrats released a portion of Epstein's emails last month that referenced Trump, congressional Republicans responded by releasing a full dossier of documents that exceeded 23,000 pages.

If Republicans decide to pursue a similar tactic after today's revelations, there could be plenty of leaked material for review.
