Gómez, from San Javier, Murcia, suffered an accident during testing ahead of the JuniorGP round at the Magny-Cours circuit, which was previously on the Formula 1 calendar.
According to reports, Gómez fell off his racing bike, and then the other rider behind him ran over him at high speed, the unnamed rider unable to avoid the young Spaniard.

Gómez competed in the European Superstock Championship this year on a Honda CBR600RR, and led the championship well before the French round, after finishing second in Estoril and winning in Jerez.
He also raced a CBR1000RR-R in the RFME-supervised championship, where he won four of the first six races and also led the championship.
Gómez competed in 15 Moto2 races in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, with his best result being a 16th place at the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix, reports Crash.Net.
