Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met with senior US officials at the White House, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and special envoy Steve Witkoff, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
“During the meeting, they reviewed Saudi-American relations and aspects of the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries, and discussed regional and international developments, issues of common interest, and the efforts being made to address them,” SPA said.
The talks come ahead of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s official working visit to Washington on November 18. The Crown Prince is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump, who made Saudi Arabia his first foreign destination during both his first and second terms in office.
Bilateral ties between Washington and Riyadh have deepened significantly in recent months, and several agreements are expected to be discussed during next week’s meeting meeting between Prince Mohammed and Trump, including defense and technology deals, notably in the semiconductor sector.
