JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Liverpool and Portugal national team football star, Diogo Jota died in a single accident in the Zamora area, Spain, on Thursday (3/7/2025).

Quoted by Reuters, the incident occurred at kilometer 65 A-52, near the Zamora area, Sanabria, Spain. At that time, Jota was traveling using a luxury sports car Lamborghini with his younger brother, Andre Silva, who was sitting in the driver's seat.

The accident occurred when the car was about to overtake at high speed, but the tire suddenly burst. Resulting in the car being uncontrollable until it finally went off the track, crashed, and caught fire.

According to police reports, the fire spread very quickly and even spread to the land around the location of the incident. Firefighters were then deployed to extinguish it, both at the point of fire, namely the vehicle and the surrounding bushes.

"The 112 Castilla y Leon received several calls reporting a vehicle accident at KM 65 A-52, in Cernadilla, Zamora," said a statement from the emergency services in the Castilla and Leon region.

"A car was reportedly involved in an accident and the vehicle caught fire," the statement continued.

Unfortunately, with the incident happening so quickly, neither Jota nor his younger brother could be saved.

The 55-second short video begins with tire tracks on the left side of the shoulder of the road. The car appears to have gone off the grass-dominated track.
