Europe calls for"restraint" from Tel Aviv and Tehran
"The European Union reaffirms its strong commitment to regional security, including that of the State of Israel, and calls on all parties to respect international law, exercise restraint, and refrain from further measures that could have serious consequences, such as a possible radioactive release," High Representative for Foreign Policy Kaja Kallas said on behalf of the European Union on Saturday.
"The EU has always been clear that Iran must never be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon and is concerned by the recent IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) report, according to which the IAEA Board of Governors concluded that Iran is not complying with its legally binding nuclear safeguards obligations under the NPT (the nuclear non-proliferation treaty)," Kallas said.
