President Gustavo Petro referred to the 14-year-old hitman who shot senator and presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay last Saturday, June 7, when he was in a park in the Modelia neighborhood.
The president stated that the minor was part of his government's Youth in Peace program, but voluntarily withdrew.
“The district government had already identified the child killer's conflictual nature, included him in one of its programs, and he was transferred to one of my government's programs: Youth in Peace. There, the report I have from the professionals is that he demonstrated a completely conflictual personality, with no ability to establish intersocial connections. He lasted two months, did not attend any classes, and then voluntarily dropped out,” the head of state said on his X account.

The EL TIEMPO Investigative Unit established that the minor claimed that the order was given by"the man with the pot." For this reason, the authorities' objective is to locate the owner of the drug dealing pot in the Villas de Alcalá neighborhood.
“It was the man with the pot, I'll tell you who it was, let me give you the numbers,” the minor can be heard saying after being restrained by the UNP security detail and the Police.

Sources linked to the investigation told this newspaper that, after verification by the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the weapon was purchased on August 6, 2020 by Charles Joe Anderson, a native of Mesa, Arizona, from the distributor Aji Port, based in that same city.
