US President Donald Trump said the US would likely"follow the letter" that sets import tariffs of 25 percent on Japan."There might be a deal with India soon," he added, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"We have some pretty good deals to announce. The big one will really be for the 150 countries that we don't really negotiate with, and they are smaller - we don't do business with them," the head of state noted.
At the beginning of the month, Trump said he would impose a 25 percent tariff on imports of goods from Japan and South Korea, effective August 1, and published letters to the leaders of the two countries on his social network Truth Social, BTA recalls.
India is among the countries that have not yet received letters from the White House.
