US President Donald Trump has called on Iran to surrender unconditionally. In several posts, he threatened Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying that everyone knows where he is.

US President Donald Trump has indirectly threatened Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei."We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding," Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform."He's an easy target." For now, however, Khamenei is safe there."We will not take him out (kill him!), at least not right now."

Trump warned Iran against firing missiles at civilians or US soldiers and warned: "Our patience is running out." In another post, Trump wrote in capital letters – presumably directed at Iran:"Unconditional surrender!"

Trump had previously cut short his participation in the G7 summit in Canada and returned to Washington. On the return flight, he expressed frustration with the Iranian leadership for his failure to negotiate a new nuclear deal with them. Trump said he now wanted a"real end" to the conflict and a "complete abandonment" of Tehran's nuclear program."They should have made the deal. I told them, 'Make the deal,'" Trump said aboard Air Force One."So I don't know. I'm not exactly in the mood to negotiate."

Trump planned to meet with advisors in the Situation Room. The US has deployed warships and military aircraft in the region to respond in the event of a further escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran.

There are reservations among the American public about a possible US intervention on Israel's side against Iran – even within Trump's own camp. The US military supports Israel in its defense. However, the US government has so far emphasized that it is not participating in the fighting between Israel and Iran.
