Organizers of the protest stated that " approximately 1,000 people with banners" gathered in the square in front of the British Parliament, Sky News reported.
London's Metropolitan Police said a"significant number of participants in the rally" carried banners supporting the banned group Palestine Action.
The police said in a post on the X network that so far at least 350 people have been arrested and that the intervention is continuing.

They added that it would take time, but warned that they would arrest anyone who expressed support for the Palestine Action.
The decision to ban this group came into effect on July 5, and expressing support for Palestine Action is a criminal offense. for which a sentence of up to 14 years in prison can be imposed, reminds Sky.

Organizers of the rally announced earlier this week that the protest would be held despite the ban, after several similar demonstrations were held following the group's ban.
So far, more than 200 people have been arrested due to the activities of the illegal group Palestine Action, and three have been charged.
Jeremy Shipham, Judith Marie and Fiona McLean are accused and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 16.
Another separate meeting was held
At the same time, another rally is being held in London today, organized by a separate group, Palestinian Coalition, whose participants started from Russell Square.

The police announced that one participant of the rally was arrested for carrying a placard in support of the Palestine Action group.
The spokesman of the Ministry of the Interior previously pointed out that the ban on Palestinian Action has nothing to do with Palestine , nor does it affect the freedom to protest and demand Palestinian rights.

"The ban only applies to a specific and narrow organization whose activities do not reflect the views or represent the thousands of people across the country who continue to exercise their basic right to protest on various issues," added the spokesperson.
