Doctor Alejandro David Castillo, who was criminally charged for allegedly using smart glasses to cheat on the medical residency entrance exam, passed the revalidation exam held this Friday at the Faculty of Medicine with 63 points.

The new exam, which included completely different questions and stricter controls, was implemented to ensure transparency and prevent further irregularities.

According to Alejandro Vilches, Secretary of Health Management, all applicants, including the 117 who participated in the revalidation, had to hand over their belongings in sealed bags. In Castillo's case, he took the exam without his glasses or electronic devices."That person cannot be removed because we don't have a court order to do so. No one is guilty until proven guilty," Vilches explained.

The original exam was not annulled, and the retest was carried out after a complaint from the provincial government, which detected Castillo wearing the smart glasses, which appear ordinary but contain a built-in camera. A comparison of the scores obtained on both tests will be decisive in determining whether Castillo's initial score is validated in the vacancy allocation process.

Vilches clarified that, for the moment, no other students have been reported and that the judicial investigation has yet to determine whether there were any more cases of attempted cheating."Surely, of those who took the test today, many are good students and will revalidate their grades," the official stated. The official results for the remaining applicants will be announced on Monday.

Revalidation details

• A total of 117 applicants participated.
• All questions were new, based on official literature.
• Metal detectors were installed to enhance security and prevent fraud.
• Those who did not attend the revalidation exam will be excluded from the vacancy allocation process.
