Russia launched a fresh wave of attacks on Ukraine overnight, employing a combination of armed drones, cruise and hypersonic missiles, and fighter jets, according to Ukrainian monitoring channels and government sources.
Explosions were reported in multiple regions including the Dnipro, Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts, and in the capital, Kyiv.
In Dnipro, a Russian attack drone struck a nine-storey residential building, destroying flats between the 4th and 6th floors and igniting a fire. Rescuers retrieved a woman’s body from a flat on the 5th floor, and 28 people, including five children, were rescued from the rubble. Ten people, among them two children, sought medical aid, and six were hospitalised (including one child). Emergency services set up three “points of invincibility” for heating and rest.
Military and monitoring sources report that Russian forces launched not only strike drones, but also used cruise missiles such as the 3M‑14 Kalibr and hypersonic missiles like the Kh‑47 M2 Kinzhal. At least twice during the night, enemy MiG-type aircraft were scrambled into the air.
