The protests encouraged by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and in which several left-wing political leaders have participated, in the final stage of La Vuelta in Madrid, have ended in riots that have forced the cancellation of part of the route and the end of the race before the cyclists reached the final finish line.

This morning, at a PSOE event in Málaga, Sánchez expressed his admiration for those who have taken to the streets day after day to boycott one of the most important sporting events held in our country. In the afternoon, with images of protesters throwing fences in the center of the capital making their way around the world, his Minister for Digital Transformation and leader of the PSM, Óscar López, said that what happened speaks highly of the people of Madrid.

In López's opinion, the fact that the people of Madrid are demonstrating against genocide does not damage Spain's image, quite the opposite. The minister, in a post on the social network X, said,"I feel sorry for La Vuelta, but I feel even more sorry for the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who are being massacred." Second Vice President Yolanda Díaz stated that our citizens are an example of dignity. Meanwhile, alongside the hundreds of people boycotting the final stage of the sporting competition with the Palestinian flag, parties such as United Left, which has members in the Council of Ministers, also demonstrated.

Former Minister of Equality, MEP, and Podemos candidate for Prime Minister, Irene Montero, has also been seen again at the protests. The Podemos leader went to the Paseo del Prado and was even seen confronting police officers who were taking part in an unprecedented operation to ensure the safety of the participants. Yesterday, in Becerril, the former minister tried to convince security officials that it was best to cancel La Vuelta.

Feijóo blames the Government for inducing the end of La Vuelta

Opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo has published a letter on his social media profile as a way of defending the majority position of a civilized and democratic nation like Spain. Feijóo has accused Sánchez of being proud of the behavior of a few who, in order to demonstrate their support for Gaza, have thrown barriers at the National Police, without guaranteeing the safety of the organizers, runners, and journalists.

According to the PP president, the government has allowed and induced the non-completion of La Vuelta, resulting in an international ridicule televised around the world.
