It is reported that in order to ensure airspace security, the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces has activated all necessary procedures.

"Polish and allied aircraft are operating in our airspace, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest level of readiness."

These actions are preventive in nature and are intended to ensure airspace security and protect the population, especially in regions bordering threat areas.

"The operational command of the Polish Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, and the forces and resources subordinate to it remain fully prepared to respond immediately," the Joint Forces Operational Command announces.

It is also stated that due to military aviation operations, Lublin Airport and the area under its control around the airport have been closed. Shortly before the alert was declared, a plane from the United States was due to land at Lublin Airport, suspected of carrying a shipment of weapons destined for Ukraine.

Currently, all planes flying to Lublin are being diverted to Warsaw.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on the social network"X" that ground-based air defense systems have reached the highest level of readiness:

"Due to the threat posed by Russian drones operating over Ukraine near the border with Poland, preventive Polish and allied aviation operations have been launched in our airspace."

It is reported that French Rafale fighter jets participating in the Alliance mission have also taken to the skies in Poland to hunt down Russian drones that may have entered NATO territory.

We remind you that this week, several dozen Russian drones violated Polish airspace. Russian drones entered Poland late Tuesday and early Wednesday during attacks on neighboring Ukraine. When the threat arose, the Polish Air Force and NATO forces rushed to shoot them down. This was the first time that Russian drones were intercepted over the territory of the defense alliance.
