Ukrainian intelligence targeted the Trans-Siberian Railway
The intelligence service said on social media that the attack blocked the movement of military cargo along the railway line, which Moscow uses"for the delivery of weapons and ammunition, including those obtained from the territory of the DPRK."
HUR said a large explosion took place in the Khabarovsk region on Thursday and "damaged one of Russia's key logistics routes." Russian authorities have been silent about the attack, but said there was a"railway failure" in the Sosnovka area of the Khabarovsk region.
North Korea is one of the Kremlin's closest allies and is supporting Moscow's large-scale invasion of Ukraine with troops and arsenals, including advanced missile systems and ballistic missiles. Since 2023, it has supplied Russia with 6.5 million artillery shells, which the Russian army has used in the fighting in Ukraine, the portal novinky.cz recalls.
The Trans-Siberian Railway, which stretches over 9,000 kilometers from Moscow to Vladivostok, is a key logistics route for Russia, allowing the transport of military supplies from the east to the Ukrainian front lines.
