President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a decision regarding a number of individuals whose Russian citizenship was confirmed.
As the head of state reported in Telegram, he held a meeting on the security situation in some Ukrainian regions.
Zelensky noted that these are issues of principle.
"The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, reported on countering Russian agent networks and collaborators in front-line, border regions, and in the south of our country. The presence of Russian citizenship in some individuals was also confirmed - appropriate decisions have been prepared regarding them. He signed the decree," Zelenskyy emphasized.

At the same time, on the air of the television marathon"United News", the presenter, citing sources in the authorities, reported that it was decided to deprive the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, former people's deputy from the Party of Regions, Oleg Tsarev, and ballet dancer Sergei Polunin of Ukrainian citizenship. Confirmation was received that these individuals had Russian citizenship.

The President thanked Serhiy Lysak, head of the regional military administration, for his effective work in this area and set the following tasks for him."Documents on this will be available soon," Zelenskyy added.

This is the simultaneous belonging of a person to the citizenship (nationality) of two or more states. According to Zelensky, the first countries where the norms will be applied will be Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, the USA and Canada. Thus, acquiring the citizenship of these countries, Ukrainians will retain their Ukrainian passport.
