Russian presidential adviser Yuri Ushakov said Wednesday's meeting between Vladimir Putin and Steve Witkoff was"useful" and "constructive." Donald Trump's special envoy met with the Russian president for three hours.
Ushakov said the two sides “exchanged signals” about the war in Ukraine and discussed possible U.S.-Russian strategic cooperation, but declined to share further information until Witkoff briefed Trump on the details of the meeting.
The American side has not yet commented on the negotiations.

Witkoff traveled to Moscow because Friday is the end of the ten-day deadline that Trump gave Putin to accept the peace plan. The Russian government has been leaking in recent days that Putin will not bow to Trump's sanctions ultimatum. This is because he feels that he is increasingly winning on the front, so there is no reason to conclude a ceasefire agreement. (via Reuters)
