The international community denounces Donald Trump's colonial arrogance in closing Venezuelan airspace.

Sunday, November 30

247 – Political organizations, social movements and governments from various regions of the world condemned this Saturday (30) the unilateral decision by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to declare Venezuelan airspace “closed”, a measure that increases the escalation of tensions in the Caribbean and generates concern about international aviation security. The information was initially released by teleSUR, which gathered reactions from entities in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East.

According to the report, Trump's decision also includes the suspension of regular flights for the return of Venezuelan migrants to the United States and is accompanied by a US military reinforcement in the region, as well as authorization for covert CIA operations.

Convictions in Latin America: attacks on sovereignty and warnings about the risk to peace.

The Communist Party of Uruguay (PCU) classified the measure as"illegal and irresponsible," stating that it "further aggravates tensions in the Caribbean, where the US has a military force of enormous destructive power." The party also denounced covert actions and attacks against Venezuelan vessels carried out without any evidence, both in the Caribbean and the Pacific.

In a forceful statement, the PCU asserted: “The excuse of combating drug trafficking falls apart when Trump himself and his top military and diplomatic leaders publicly acknowledge that they want to overthrow the Venezuelan government, and Yankee congressmen openly speak of the need to seize Venezuelan oil.”

The Uruguayan organization recalled the long history of US interventions in the region and reiterated that Latin America and the Caribbean must remain a zone of peace, as established by the Treaty of Tlatelolco and the CELAC declaration, instruments that, according to the PCU, are being violated by Washington.

International Antifascist Group of the Democratic Republic of Congo denounces “barbarity”

From Africa, the Antifascist International – DRC also condemned Trump's action, calling it"harmful and illegal" and pointing out that the measure violates the Charter of the United Nations and basic principles of peaceful coexistence.

According to the organization:"It is an expression of the barbarity of the Trump Administration, which does not respect the law or the peaceful coexistence between peoples."

The organization called on progressive forces around the world to defend Venezuela's sovereignty, stating that imperialism is"once again plunging the planet into the bestiality of another era."

Paraguayan movement speaks of “colonial arrogance” and “imperial rampage”

In Paraguay, the Paraguayan Movement of Solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution stated that"neither Trump nor anyone else has the authority to threaten Venezuela" and classified the action as "a new imperial assault by Donald Trump."

In a direct tone, the organization declared that Trump is acting in a"surge of colonial arrogance" by attempting to dictate orders over Venezuelan airspace. According to the movement, the threat from the President of the United States is"absurd and desperate," demonstrating that "US imperialism remains committed to imposing its dominance through lies, blackmail, and provocations."

The organization concluded: "It is not and will never be your backyard."

Iran and Cuba warn of risks to international security.

Iran's Foreign Ministry called the action"arbitrary" and warned of the "dangerous consequences" of the unilateral closure of Venezuelan airspace. Spokesperson Ismail Baqai stated that this represents an unprecedented threat to global aviation security.

"It is an arbitrary act and an unprecedented threat to international aviation security," he stated.

Cuba also reacted strongly. According to Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the measure is an “aggressive act for which no State has authority outside its national borders.” In his message, the minister added: “It is a very serious threat to international law and an escalation of military aggression and psychological warfare against the Venezuelan people and government.”
