Speaking on the sidelines of the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva on Sunday, Shamseddin Hosseini, who is also a member of the Standing Committee on UN Affairs of the union in the Asia-Pacific Group meeting, stated that Iran will spare no efforts to strengthen the understanding and cooperation between regional countries with the aim of ensuring endogenous security and stability.

Pointing to the recet Israeli aggression on Qatar, he emphasized that the terrorist attack of Israeli regime on Qatar is a clear violation of the principles of the UN Charter and fundamental rules of the international laws as well as a blatant aggression against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring Qatar.

Iran has always emphasized that it will spare no effort to strengthen understanding and cooperation between regional countries aimed at ensuring endogenous security and stability, Hosseini emphasized.

The 151st edition of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) kicked off in Geneva on Sunday with the theme of “upholding humanitarian norms and supporting humanitarian action in times of crisis”.

As headed by Iranian Deputy Parliament Speaker Hamidreza Hajibabaei, the meeting will run through October 23.
