Ukraine's Air Defense Situation

Kyiv and Washington will work on strengthening the protection of Ukrainian skies. This is according to the results telephone conversation with the US President Donald Trump reported to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the Ukrainian leader, he and Trump had a"very important and useful conversation."

Zelensky congratulated President Trump and the entire American people on Independence Day, which is celebrated today, July 4.

"We in Ukraine are grateful for all the support provided, which allows us to protect people's lives and our independence. We have done a lot together with America and support all efforts to stop the killings and restore a normal, stable, decent peace. A decent agreement is needed for peace, and Ukraine supports American proposals," Zelensky noted.

As the President of Ukraine reported, he spoke with the American leader about the current situation: about Russian air strikes and, more broadly, about the situation on the front.

"President Trump is very well informed, thank you for this attention to Ukraine. We discussed air defense options and agreed that we will work to increase sky protection," Zelenskyy emphasized.

In particular, the presidents agreed on a corresponding meeting of our teams.

"We also talked in detail about the capabilities of the defense industry, about the possibilities of joint production. We are ready for direct projects with America and believe that this is extremely necessary for security, especially when it comes to drones and related technologies," Zelenskyy said.

The leaders of the countries also discussed mutual purchases and investments. They exchanged views on the diplomatic situation and joint work with America and other partners.

Contacts between Zelensky and Trump

As UNIAN reported, on June 25, Zelensky and Trump held a meeting during the NATO leaders' summit in The Hague (Netherlands). It lasted more than 40 minutes. Zelensky later said that they discussed the issue of supplies of Patriot complexes .

A few days later it became known that the US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset decided to suspend supply of critical components and weapons to Ukraine, including PAC-3 missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. Hegset made this decision despite the fact that an analysis conducted by senior US military officers showed that the weapons package, which was supposed to arrive in Ukraine but was stopped, did not threaten the combat readiness of the United States.

In the Kremlin for Ukraine.

Yesterday, July 3, Trump had a telephone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who has no plans to abandon plans for a full-scale war against Ukraine.

After the call Russia carried out a large-scale shelling Ukraine with missiles and drones.
