Trump said on Tuesday that the United States will impose 100 percent tariffs and other measures against Russia in ten days if the country does not show progress in ending the war in Ukraine.
Now the Kremlin is responding that they have become almost immune to such measures, after the long-running tariff dispute with the United States.
"We have been living with many sanctions for a long time. Our economy is operating under many restrictions," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to the Reuters news agency.
- Therefore, we have in a way developed a kind of immunity, and we continue to follow everything that is said by President Trump and other international representatives on this matter.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova calls the threat of new sanctions routine, according to Reuters.
- We see that the West is unable to let go of sanctions. It seems that they are stuck in the same rut, says Zakharova.
She says it's strange that the US and the West have not yet understood that such measures do not work.

She believes that the measures are instead harming the US and the West's own economies.
"Obviously, there are no other solutions left, they have been exhausted. We are responding and taking measures to counteract this, or even take advantage of it," Zakharova says.
