Famous Ukrainian restaurateur Yevhen Klopotenko told about the meeting with Prince Harry, who arrived in Kyiv on September 12. The chef managed to feed the royal person.
In your Telegram channel Eugene shared footage from the Duke of Sussex's recent visit to Ukraine. As the restaurateur noted, he treated Harry to a traditional Ukrainian dish, borscht, which his mother, Princess Diana, once loved.
"Prince Harry came to Ukraine. I thought: he should taste what his mother loved. Once an Englishwoman asked the palace about Diana's favorite dish - it was borshch soup. A little adapted, but the essence remains. So we prepared Ukrainian for him: borscht, corn porridge, vereshchaka and cheesecakes. It went with him on the train," the chef said.
The showman showed a video of the moment he handed over Ukrainian gifts to the royal person right on the platform of the central railway station in Kyiv.
Klopotenko added that for him this moment was proof of how Ukrainian cuisine is able to unite cultures and generations, because the dishes that Princess Diana once loved are now being tasted by her son.
"Ukrainian food is about us, our roots, and even royal families," the restaurateur emphasized.
Let us recall that Prince Harry made an unannounced visit to the Ukrainian capital. He arrived with the team of his Invictus Games Foundation, which systematically helps military personnel, including Ukrainian veterans, with rehabilitation through sports.
