After the government appointed Lisandro Catalán as the new Minister of the Interior, in a week in which they tried to show hyperactivity in the Casa Rosada after the defeat in the Buenos Aires elections, former allies and opponents questioned the appointment of the current Secretary of the Interior and the call for a federal table that only includes"the governors who are close to them" and "the same old ones."
The current Deputy Chief of Staff for the Interior, Lisandro Catalán, will occupy the role held by his mentor, Guillermo Francos, until May 2024, when he took over as Chief of Staff following the dismissal of Nicolás Posse. Thus, the La Libertad Avanza administration is once again giving the Interior Ministry the role of Minister.
A few minutes after the news was known, the former member of the La Libertad Avanza bloc in the House of Representatives and current member of Coherencia Carlos D'Alessandro crossed the Government for calling only allied governors to dialogue." Instead of opening a broad, federal and renewing political table, they insist on calling on the same people as always, the same faces that represent what people wanted to leave behind," he said.
"This path does not lead to the construction of a solid alternative, but rather to repeating the vices of the old politics that have done so much harm to our country," D'Alessandro lashed out on social media.
The recent election in the province of Buenos Aires left a clear and unequivocal message: the people spoke at the polls, and that verdict cannot and should not be ignored. We're talking about 40% of Argentina's electoral roll. Failing to heed that mandate is a strategic error that…

In electoral terms, and alluding to the Libertarian defeat by more than 13 points in the Buenos Aires elections, the former Libertarian declared:"The recent election in the province of Buenos Aires left a clear and unequivocal message: the people spoke at the polls and that verdict cannot and should not be ignored. We are talking about 40% of the electoral roll in Argentina. Not listening to that mandate is a strategic error that will have even more serious consequences in the future."
In this context, Kirchnerite senator Juliana di Tullio criticized the national executive branch:"If they only call on 'friendly governors,' then they govern for those who think the same as the President."
" Authoritarianism and blinders continue," noted the senator of the Union for the Homeland through her X account, after the Government launched the federal table to try to resume dialogue with the dialogue-seeking leaders.
If they only call on “friendly governors,” then they are governing for those who think like the president.

In tune, the Buenos Aires legislator Graciela Ocaña affirmed that"the structures are not going to solve the problem of the lack of dialogue and compliance with the commitments with the Governors."
Minister @GAFrancosOk Structures are not going to solve the problem of the lack of dialogue and compliance with commitments with the Governors. It is not by appointing Ministers, it is by solving the problems of the Argentine people and listening to their Governors.

For his part, the deputy and candidate to renew his seat for the City of Buenos Aires under the Potencia CABA seal Ricardo López Murphy shared an image to illustrate that the appointment of Catalán is only a change in his rank, since he will go from being deputy chief of the Interior Cabinet to minister, but his functions will remain the same.
