The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted a resolution endorsing the"Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution."
Media outlets confirmed that the Assembly's decision was included in the final document of the high-level international conference held in New York from July 28 to 30, 2025.
Both Israel and the United States declared their strong opposition to the resolution before the vote, but that did not prevent the General Assembly from approving it by a large majority.
142 countries voted in favor, 10 voted against, and 12 countries abstained, including Iraq and Iran.
Earlier, the UN General Assembly decided to resume a high-level international conference on the two-state solution on September 22, to revive a peace process that was suspended this summer amid escalating violence in Gaza.
