Sweden on Friday summoned the Russian ambassador to protest against Moscow’s strikes on Kyiv that killed at least 23 people, the foreign ministry said.
The meeting was called to “protest against Russia’s continuous attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilians,” Sweden’s foreign ministry said.
“It is clear that Russia is not interested in peace as it continues its attacks all over Ukraine. Now is the time to maximize pressure on Russia, including through more sanctions,” Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard wrote on X.

It is clear that Russia is not interested in peace as it continues its attacks all over Ukraine. Now is the time to maximise pressure on Russia, including through more sanctions.
The Swedish government “wants to see a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” she said.
Russian missiles and drones ripped through apartment blocks in the Ukrainian capital on Thursday, killing at least 23 people including four children and wounding around 50 others.
The European Union mission, a British government cultural building and two media outlets’ offices were also damaged.
The EU and Britain have also summoned the Russian ambassadors in Brussels and London after the attack.
