Putin's Military Options and Threats

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Russian President Vladimir Putin invited US President Donald Trump "because he was scared that Ukraine might gain an advantage", but rejected the ceasefire proposal that Ukraine accepted, reports Sky News

.

"But Putin does not want to stop the killing. There is no indication that Russia and Putin want peace, not even a ceasefire," she pointed out.

The Danish Prime Minister repeated the message of her colleagues that it is necessary to increase the pressure on Russia, continue to find ways to finance Ukraine's defense efforts and continue to weaken the Russian economy.

"I think we took significant steps this week," Frederiksen added.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoff, said that the goal of all meetings of the Coalition of the Willing is peace and that in order to achieve that goal, it is necessary to enable Ukraine to continue fighting.

He said that Russia is the only party that refuses the truce and that the only way to change that is to increase the pressure.

Schoff stated that the Netherlands would take its share of responsibility to prevent Russia from operating its shadow fleet in the North Sea.

He said that attacks on Ukraine's energy system are particularly worrying and promised additional support aimed at strengthening capacities in that area.

A summit of the Coalition of the Willing was held in London, attended by new members, including an additional 20 countries that will join the joint call for greater international cooperation and support for Ukraine.
