The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday bombed one of the buildings designated as a Hamas operations center in Gaza City. The operation is part of the final offensive against the terrorist group.

Earlier, the Israeli army had announced that “ in the coming days ” it will begin a wave of attacks against multi-story buildings in Gaza City (northern Gaza Strip) that have “become terrorist infrastructure.”

“In the coming days, the army will attack structures that have become terrorist infrastructure in Gaza City: cameras, observation command centers, sniper and anti-tank positions, and command and control compounds,” the statement said.

The announcement comes after the Army said yesterday that it already controls 40% of the Gaza capital and intends to completely occupy it, expelling the million people concentrated in the city to the south.

In its statement, the Army said it “has conducted extensive intelligence gathering operations and identified significant Hamas terrorist activity at various infrastructure sites in Gaza City, particularly high-rise buildings.”

"Furthermore, Hamas's underground terrorist infrastructure is located adjacent to these buildings, designed to facilitate ambushes against Israeli troops and provide escape routes from the command centers established within them," the statement added.

He also assures that in this new campaign of bombings against buildings “ they will take numerous measures to minimize the risk of harming the civilian population as much as possible .”

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned today that “the gates of hell” in Gaza are opening and vowed to intensify attacks on the Gaza capital.

"When the door opens, it will not close, and the army's activity will increase until the Hamas murderers accept Israel's conditions for ending the war, beginning with the release of all hostages and disarmament," he threatened.

Over the past week, attacks in Gaza City have intensified.

Since early morning, nearly twenty Palestinians, including seven children, have been killed in Israeli bombings against homes and tents, the Wafa news agency reported, citing medical sources.

Hamas released a video of two kidnapped Israeli hostages on October 7, 2023.

In another order, the armed wing of the terrorist group Hamas released this Friday the attack launched by the Islamist movement in Israel on October 7, 2023.

The video, more than three and a half minutes long, shows a kidnapped man in a moving vehicle, against a backdrop of destroyed buildings, pleading with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to launch an offensive to take Gaza City.

Israeli media identified him as Guy Gilboa Dalal, who was at the Nova music festival in southern Israel when he was kidnapped by militants on the morning of October 7, 2023.

In the video released this Friday, he states in Hebrew that he is in Gaza City and that the footage was filmed on August 28.

Towards the end of the recording, he is seen alongside another captive, whose family initially requested that he not be identified but later agreed to do so. This is Alon Ohel.

In February, during the truce with Israel, Hamas released a video showing two Israelis, one of them Gilboa Dalal, in a vehicle watching a hostage release ceremony.

Of the 251 people kidnapped on October 7, 2023, 47 remain captive in Gaza, including 25 who the military says are dead.

Since then, both Hamas and Islamic Jihad, another Palestinian armed group, have released several videos of hostages.

The January 19-March 17 truce allowed for the return to Israel of 33 hostages, including eight who died. In return, some 1,800 Palestinians held in Israeli jails were released.

The previous week-long truce took place in November 2023 and also allowed for the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
