"Last night, Russia launched one of the most massive air strikes since the beginning of the war: over 800 drones and ballistic missiles on Ukraine. Among the targets – the Government building in Kiev and residential areas. Putin's missiles and drones have again killed innocent people. This is the true face of the Putin regime: terror, destruction, war crimes. There is no intention of peace in this barbaric attack. The Kremlin wants to destroy Ukraine and intimidate Europe," Moșteanu claims in a message posted on social networks.
He shows that Romania firmly condemns these criminal attacks.
Russia attacked Ukraine with 805 drones, Ukrainian officials said.
The largest Russian drone attack since the beginning of the invasion
Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, confirmed to the Associated Press that Sunday's attack was the largest Russian drone strike since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russia also fired 13 missiles of various types.
AP reporters saw a cloud of smoke rising from the roof of the cabinet building in Kiev, but it was not immediately clear whether the smoke was the result of a direct hit or debris.
The building is the headquarters of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, housing the offices of ministers. Police blocked access to the building as firefighters and ambulances arrived.
Ukrainian officials said two people were killed and at least 17 injured in the attack.
"For the first time, the government building has been damaged by an enemy attack, including the roof and upper floors," said Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The two people killed were a mother and her 3-month-old baby, whose bodies were pulled from the rubble by rescue teams, said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kiev city administration.
Russian drones hit a nine-story residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kiev and a four-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district, according to Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.
