Palestinian Ambassador to the Security Council, Riyad Mansour, called for deterrent measures to halt Israeli crimes, according to Cairo News Channel.

The Palestinian representative to the Security Council added,"How is Israel allowed to remain in the United Nations?" He pointed out that Israel has proven that it does not care about international law.

In this context, UN Assistant Secretary-General Miroslav Jenča said on Sunday that Israel's decision to take full military control of Gaza City puts the lives of more than 2 million Palestinians at"greater risk," as well as the lives of Israeli detainees, noting that there is no military solution to the armed conflict in the Gaza Strip.

In his address to the UN Security Council's emergency session on the expanding aggression on Gaza and the occupation's decision to reoccupy the territory, the UN official warned that the Israeli government's recent decision on the Gaza Strip threatens to ignite another horrific chapter in this conflict, with potential repercussions beyond Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.
