He said at a cabinet meeting in the White House that a"historic success" was achieved last night in the Middle East.

- We ended the war in Gaza and actually, on a much larger scale, created peace. I think it will be a lasting peace, I hope eternal peace - said Trump.

The hostages will be released early next week

He added that the remaining hostages should be released"on Monday or Tuesday."

- Their return is a complicated process, they are in places where you don't want to be - he said.

Trump emphasized that it would be a"day of joy" and announced that he would try to travel to the region:

- I think you're going to see some extraordinary countries coming in, investing a lot of money and solving the thing - Trump added.

"The attack on Iran was important"

- Everything came together to reach an agreement. I think the attack on Iran in June was very important because if it hadn't happened, we probably would have had nuclear weapons by now, multiple, and even if we had signed the deal, there would have been a big dark cloud hanging over it. It wouldn't be the same - said Trump.

He added that he believed Iran"now wants to work in peace" :

- They informed us and confirmed that they fully support this agreement. They think it's a great thing. We would like them to be able to rebuild their country, but they cannot have nuclear weapons.

On June 22, the US bombed several key Iranian nuclear facilities following an exchange of airstrikes between Israel and Iran.
