"Today, our delegation returned from Geneva after negotiations with the American side and European partners, and now the list of necessary steps for ending the war can become usable. For now, after Geneva, there are fewer points, there are no more 28, and many real things have been taken into account in this framework," said Zelensky in an evening video address, reports Ukrinform.

According to him, there is still work to be done to make the final document acceptable.

"And we appreciate that most of the world is ready to help us, and the American side is constructive," Zelensky said, adding that he will personally discuss sensitive issues from this plan with US President Donald Trump.

" Ukraine will never be an obstacle to peace - this is our principle, a common principle, and millions of Ukrainians expect and deserve a dignified peace. We will do everything for this, we are ready to work as quickly as possible," said the Ukrainian leader.

He warned that Russia will not reduce pressure on Ukraine and called on citizens to"pay close attention to air warnings these weeks".

Zelenski emphasized that it would be"fair to all our partners, and above all to the American side, to take into account the threat that their intelligence services see as well."

"And if there are negotiations, if there is a constructive approach, if we really end the war, then there shouldn't be rockets, there shouldn't be massive attacks on Ukraine, on our people. That can really be done by those who are strong in the world," concluded Zelensky.

Previously, the American media announced that the Trump administration conducted secret consultations with the Russian side in order to develop a new plan to end the war in Ukraine. Portal Axios announced that the plan consists of 28 points  and that it is divided into four general categories: peace in Ukraine, security guarantees, security in Europe, and future US relations with Russia and Ukraine.

According to the media, it is expected that Kiev will relinquish control over Donbas, reduce its army and give up a significant part of its weapons.

The plan envisages that the transfer of the remaining territories of Donbass will take place in exchange for the security guarantees of the United States of America for Kiev and Europe, the mechanism of which is not clearly defined.
