Chief US diplomat Marco Rubio was due in Israel on Thursday, the latest Washington official to visit as President Donald Trump's administration kept up efforts to cement the fragile truce between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. His visit comes after the International Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday that Israel has not proven its claims that a significant part of the UN’s relief agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) are members of Hamas.   • The UK ministry of defence confirmed that a"small number" of British troops were deployed in Israel as part of a US-led mission which is monitoring the Gaza ceasefire.
  • Israel said its security forces in the Gaza Strip received the remains of two hostages from the Red Cross on Tuesday returned as part of a US-brokered ceasefire deal.
  • US Vice President JD Vance said that the location of some of the bodies of deceased hostages in Gaza was unknown, saying that the issue is"difficult" and would not be resolved overnight.
