Russian drones entered Polish airspace on their way to Ukraine, and the Polish Air Force used weapons against those drones, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamisz said today.
The Polish military announced that the entry of drones into that country's airspace during the Russian attack on Ukraine represents an"act of aggression" that threatened public safety and required the downing of buildings, reports Reuters.
"This is an act of aggression that posed a real threat to the security of our citizens," the Polish Armed Forces' Operational Command said on the X network, while also imposing a reduced duty reporting time for soldiers due to airspace violations during the night.
Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Warsaw informed the Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte about the actions taken by Poland against Russian drones, and that the anti-drone operation is still ongoing.
