President of the United States Donald Trump confirmed that he is interested in a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He made this statement during communication with journalists before traveling to Scotland.
"This will definitely happen. Such a meeting was supposed to take place 3 months ago," he said.
It is known that during Trump's visit to Scotland, he will meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The main purpose of the visit is to discuss a trade agreement between Washington and London.
The US President announced that he plans to conclude his visit to Scotland on July 29.
Erdogan wants to organize a meeting between Putin and Trump
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he intends to organize a meeting US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin at peace talks over Ukraine. He noted that such a meeting could take place in Istanbul.
Erdogan added that he could hold talks with Putin and Trump on the issue this week. The Turkish president also said that Trump had told him that he would participate in potential peace talks between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia if the Kremlin leader also agreed to join them in person.
