Jakarta, CNN Indonesia --

As many as 120 thousand civilians in four provinces near the border were evacuated following the renewed war between Thailand and Cambodia on Tuesday (9/12).

According to local Thai media, The Nation, the four provinces are Ubon Ratchathani with 22,580 people, Sisaket with 45,914 people, Surin with 51,781 people, and Buri Ram with 5,563 people.

Thai authorities have opened 492 temporary shelters currently housing 125,838 people.

They also opened 75 points for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and people in poor health.

In addition, the Army Veterinary Department also supplied 24,000 kilograms of dry hay for animal feed.

The evacuation process is still ongoing. The Thai Army has also urged the public not to share photos, video clips, or information showing troop movements or military operations to maintain security.

The military also urged the public to follow the latest information from official government channels and the Army's website, Second Army Area.

The two neighboring countries have been at war again since earlier this week. Thailand claims Cambodia launched rocket attacks on border areas ranging from Ban Sai Tho to Buri Ram. They then responded by deploying F-16 fighter jets.

As a result of this incident, one Thai soldier and four Cambodian civilians were killed.

Last June, the two countries fought a four-day war. Malaysia, as the then-chair of ASEAN, attempted negotiations until a ceasefire was finally agreed upon.

But shortly after the ceasefire, both countries accused each other of violating the agreement.
