247 - Satellite images from the European Union's Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission show US Navy ships moving towards Venezuela. Defense experts analyzed the photos taken on October 30 and identified some of the vessels. The information is from CNN Brazil.

One of the vessels is believed to be the amphibious warship USS Iwo Jima, sailing approximately 190 kilometers from La Orchila Island, Venezuela. Another ship, identified as the guided-missile destroyer USS Gravely, is reportedly maneuvering in the eastern Caribbean Sea, approximately 320 kilometers north of the Venezuelan mainland.

On Friday (31), US President Donald Trump said he was not considering authorizing attacks inside Venezuela, after the Wall Street Journal published information that Washington had identified possible military targets in the country, including facilities used for drug trafficking. Since September, US attacks against suspected drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean and Pacific have resulted in dozens of deaths, increasing tension between the two countries.

The Pentagon mobilized a large contingent of warships to the Caribbean waters, justifying the operation as part of the fight against drug trafficking. Among the vessels sent is the world's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, as well as amphibious landing ships such as the USS Iwo Jima, USS Fort Lauderdale, and USS San Antonio, which are carrying approximately 4,000 marines.

Also present are the destroyers USS Gravely and USS Jason Dunham, belonging to the Arleigh Burke class, launched in 1991. These multi-purpose ships are equipped with guided missiles, including the advanced Tomahawk, capable of attacking land targets, and have a standard crew of 329 sailors. The destroyers perform naval combat, escorting larger ships, land bombardment, and air defense duties.
